As many already know, several MSC cruise ships require that a card be placed in a card key switch in order for the stateroom lights to function. (Please confirm whether or not your ship uses them prior to purchase.)
The MSC suggestion is to use one of your room keys - which often results in a forgotten key when leaving the room.
